A home ashram establishment

Ashrams are very important for Sanatana Dharma's spiritual life in Vedic and Tantric traditions. Ashram is a place where sadhu-swami, sannyasis, and brahmacharis live, serve Dharma and practice.

Devout householders, lay grihasthas come here for spiritual support. Vanaprasthas, householders, who have withdrawn from worldly affairs and have decided to devote themselves to the spiritual search for God, like to settle near the ashram.

Ashram literally means "guru's home". This is a place where a guru - a spiritual teacher or his experienced disciple, monk-swami or brahmachari, karma-sannyasi - stays or lives, and where his disciples are taught at satsangs, darshanas (blessings) and diksha (initiations) are performed.

Philosophical disputations are held in ashrams, scriptures are studied and interpreted. In ashrams, everyone contributes to the service of Dharma - seva.

An ashram is a place with an altar with the deities of the lineage, its relics installed, and where mystery, divine theurgies invoking the blessings of deities and saints are regularly held.

In the ashrams, you will be offered prasad, a special food consecrated on the altar and offered to the deities to purify the mind and spirit. The joyful and pure sound of the bell, calling you to the morning arati or evening meditation, is a constant sound you can hear in the ashram.

An ashram is the center of Vedic or Tantric community spiritual life, where practices, and ritrites are held on special days. The ashrams provide yoga and meditation classes for spiritual seekers.

An ashram is a spiritual school, a place of tapas for sadhus, a place of gathering of sadhus and sangha, a center of Dharma service, and a place where sacred sacraments and divine services are conducted.

Ashram is a place where pure and favorable spiritual energy is accumulated, "charging" spiritual seekers. It is a place where the secret teachings of ancient saints are kept, and the secrets of inner alchemy are passed from teacher to student.
